The Gregatron had a net-0 last week. (both picks finished t-11). I need some more unpredictability in my life, or need to improve my golf research skills. Either way, the regular season is back for a couple weeks before the playoffs at the FedEx Dt. Jude Invitational in Memphis. Two events combined this year to form the final WGC of the season. Ironically, there are two defending champs (whaaaa?). TPC Southwind is one of the hardest tests on tour each season with average winning scores between 10 and 15 under. Channel your inner Elvis, because a whole lotta shakin is going on the road to the FedEx Cup.
Gregatron’s Pick of the Week: Tommy Fleetwood
The runner up at the open is a horse for tough courses. He has two top-5s at the U.S. Open and will undoubtedly win a major title in the near future. His ball striking is pure, ranking 18th in strokes gained off the tee. He’s also 9th in scoring average. Look for some redemption after missing out on the Open. Tommy will be lifting the trophy.
Back to the Range Bro: Jordan Spieth
The fan favorite is a golfballin favorite, but he’s still fighting some swing changes. He’s 178th in strokes gained off the tee, losing nearly half a stroke. On a ball strikers course, might be a grind. Keep working at it J.
