The PGA Tour playoffs revs up the engines this week at the penultimate event, the BMW Championship. The 70 players left in the race are trying to crack the top 30 and earn a berth into the Tour Championship next week to decide the FedEx Cup. Hosted at famed Medinah, the BMW is sure to produce a lot of birdies and excitement coming down the stretch. This is the first time the course has hosted a non major, and very few players were around in 2006 when Tiger torched the field at the PGA. Ready, set, race!
Gregatron’s POTW: Tiger Woods
I sure hope his glutes are activating this week...it’s a wildcard pick for a wildcard stage of the Playoffs. Tiger hasn’t been close on a leaderboard since the win at the Masters, but apparently he shot 4 under on the front nine at Medinah on Wednesday and is feeling “way better”. I hope he plays “way better” to close out a pretty solid season for the President’s Cup captain.
Back to the Range Bro: Jason Day
J-Day recently went through a breakup, parting ways with his caddy, Steve Williams, after their summer fling. He only has one top-10 since the Masters and is struggling to make recent cuts. At 50th in points, Day will need a top 5 finish to get into the finale. The outcome seems unlikely.
