Gregatron's POTW: The Tour Championship

This is it, golf fans. The PGA Tour season concludes at famed East Lake in Atlanta this Sunday. I know these picks are going out late, but I swear I haven’t looked at the leaderboard today. With $15MM on the line, golf’s ultimate cash payday awaits the golfer who can make up multiple strokes on the FedEx Cup leader, Justin Thomas. It will be interesting to see how the scores stack up coming down the stretch with the staggered start. Matt Kuchar, who led the standings for most of the year, starts 6 shots back. Others like Fowler, Oosthuizen and Adam Scott also need to make up some ground. It should be a photo finish to the Cup.

Gregatron’s Pick of the Week: Rory McIlroy

The Northern Irishman has a ton of success at East Lake. Remember his dramatic victory over Ryan Moore in a playoff in 2016? How about his pairing in the final group with Tiger last year? It’s clear that the bomb and gouge route is advantageous. Rory can reach all the par-5s in two shots and should have a few looks at eagle. I’m expecting him to cap off another great season with a third victory and the FedEx Cup title.

See You Next Year Bro: Marc Leishman

Plain and simple? He’s too far back of JT. Making up 9 shots over 4 rounds will be tough. He’s had a great season with a win and seven top-tens, but is not overly long (78th) or straight off the tee (138th). The perfect formula at East Lake calls for both.
